Rio Cloud will give staff the tools they need to provide better support for children and young people in North Middlesex

We're delighted to announce that North Middlesex University Hospital will be using our new Rio Cloud service. North Middlesex, who provide the Child Health Service for the 0-19 years population in their area, can now access the full functionality of our Rio Electronic Patient Record (EPR) system securely via a web browser or mobile device over the internet. This enables them to have control over their configuration of Rio and integrate with other care settings to get a more complete view of each patient.

A system designed for the users will give clinicians all the information they need to provide better support to their patients

Rio is the market-leading EPR in mental health, trusted by over 150,000 healthcare professionals to help improve the quality of care, clinical safety, and patient experience. Rio Cloud offers Rio in a scalable solution with a quick and easy set-up using an ‘out-of-the-box’ configuration adapted from years of mental health and clinical experience. Using on-demand software from Servelec’s secure, private Cloud, smaller care providers and services can now access the same comprehensive EPR system as larger Trusts, making remote working and collaboration more accessible than ever.

By choosing Rio Cloud, North Middlesex have control over their configuration of Rio and the data within it, with the flexibility to meet current and future needs. A system designed for the users will be simpler and easier for staff to use and give them all the information they need to provide better support to their patients. Greater control over their data will also improve reporting so the Trust can more effectively manage resources and give more support where it’s needed.

Rio Cloud will enable North Middlesex to access local care information from other third-party suppliers, such as the acute EPR system and Health Information Exchange (HIE). Rio is also connected to the National Event Management Service (NEMS), giving a range of key information across local areas such as immunisations, new births and GP and address updates. These integrations help clinicians see the whole picture when caring for their patients as they can see the full patient history.

Steve Wightman, Managing Director of Healthcare at Servelec, commented: “I’m very excited to have North Middlesex University Hospital on board with Rio Cloud. Enabling the Trust to have more control over their system is vital in helping them to improve the service they offer and provide better support for children and young people in the area. Rio Cloud is making our market-leading EPR affordable for any size of organisation, from 10 to 10,000 users.”
