Servelec, a provider of health, social care and education software, has won a competitive tender to supply Sandwell Council with its Synergy Education Management Information System.

> About Synergy

Synergy will provide an integrated and secure digital management service, designed to manage all education information for children and young people. Sandwell will join a strong and supportive education user base of over 50 Synergy customers for education management.

After a two-stage tender process, Synergy from Servelec has been chosen to replace the incumbent suppliers for Education, as the solution that best delivers an integrated Education Management System. It replaces the Capita solution, which has been in place for more than 20 years.

Servelec’s Education team will work in partnership with Sandwell Council over the five-year contract. Servelec's Synergy suite manages all aspects of education services within local authorities. It will give Sandwell a practical, clear and reliable way of managing critical information around the education, safeguarding and care of children and young people. The system is expected to be deployed in January 2019.

Synergy is a single system with multiple modular capabilities, chosen by the Council because of its suitability for managing their complex needs. Servelec was able to fulfil all of Sandwell Council’s overarching principles for appointment using existing Synergy modules and demonstrating extensive education system management experience.

As well as providing case management and assessment and monitoring capabilities, Synergy will also enable Sandwell Council to better manage admissions, pupil benefits, SEN legal obligations, School and Local Authority Governance requirements, as well as Early Years obligations. Synergy will also provide essential web self-service capabilities to parents and carers, such as schools applications, funding, and SEN assistance.
