Major changes have started to take place in recent years in the way social work and health services are being delivered across Scotland. In Dundee, NHS Tayside and Dundee City Council are working closely together to prepare for the integration of adult health and social care services across the area.
The implementation of Servelec's Mosaic solution at Dundee City Council will adopt best practice guidelines and will be deployed across a number of the Council’s departments including Adults, Children’s, Finance and also Criminal Justice – Mosaic complies with the Scottish Criminal Justice requirements. Mosaic will also be used by Dundee City Council as an Education Case Management solution to capture all of the education case management requirements.
As well as being a fully configurable solution that can be tailored to meet a local authority’s needs, Mosaic can also provide an ‘out of the box’ configuration modeled on good practices in use across the social care sector. This vital functionality helps to provide a quality starting point and the system can then be adapted and developed further to meet the council’s changing needs in line with legislative requirements.
A council spokesperson at Dundee City Council said:
“At Dundee City Council our ambition is to have a case management system that allows our staff to do their job with as much seamless flow of information as possible, and with the ability to integrate services in the system to support health and social care integration.
During the tendering process, Servelec provided clear structure examples of how they would move our case studies through the Mosaic system. Servelec listened to us, to really understand our requirements and they are helping us to realise the potential in the system.
The implementation of Mosaic will bring together a number of disparate databases into a single system leading to more efficient use of our staff’s time. The Mosaic system will enable us to record information accurately and consistently against a person to create a holistic view of a client’s social work care pathway.
For the first time, information for the service user will be held in one central place reducing the amount of time our staff spend searching for information and ensuring they have access to the right information at the right time. Servelec helped us to manage our build and we continue to develop and maintain the good partnership we have with the team.”
Servelec has enjoyed a successful bidding record for health and social care tenders in Scotland, with Dundee City Council being the fourth successful win in a row. The contract with Dundee City Council is now fully underway with the aim of going live across all of the Council’s departments in November 2016.
“Our latest success in Dundee signifies Servelec Social Care's strong proposition to the health and social care market in Scotland. Working in partnership with Dundee City Council, Servelec Social Care is committed to delivering a quality solution, based on best practice principles, and providing first-class customer service to support the Council in meeting the health and social care needs of its residents.”
